Cuando pensaba en como mostrar las fotos en el blog, donde normalmente busco una maquetación más rítmica, me di cuenta que, en este caso, era mejor mostrar una secuencia de fotos en tamaño grande. Así los detalles se pueden ver mucho mejor.
Here are some photos of the work we create at the Research room.
When I thought about how to show them in the blog, where I always look for some kind of rhythm on the way to organize images, I realized in this case it is much better to do a simple sequence of photos in big size. Because then I can tell a little about each one, but, most of all, details can be seen bigger.
"Fox in a lab"
Jonathan used his own cartoon theme, nightlife of city foxes. Here he recreates another of their adventures, working on a secret lab which seems located in the jungle.
It is a mix media: felt pens on screen-printed paper.
Aquí Jonathan usó uno de sus temas: la agitada vida nocturna de los zorros de ciudad. El tiene una tira cómica sobre los zorros, y aquí representó otra de sus aventuras, trabajando en un laboratorio...parece que escondido en la selva.

Para buscar ideas utilizamos algunos de los libros de la biblioteca del Project Ability. Hay uno con imágenes increibles de los eventos más importantes del siglo XX. Y de ahí cogimos esta...19 de Julio del 69, Amstrong dando un gran paso para la humanidad. Existen dudas sobre si fue real o grabado en unos estudios. Lo indudable es la fuerza de la imagen, por eso la usamos... además yo acababa de ver 2001 odisea del espacio, y estaba fascinada con la estética.

This tittle means "day for night", a cinematographic technique used to simulate a night scene while filming in daylight. In spanish sounds much more poetic, that´s why we keep it.

This one is from a famous plasticine animated television series. I think this one made the most of the mysterious dark room. Mixed media: color pencil and white pen on screenprinted paper.
Este está tomado de una serie de animación. Es el que más partido saca de la misteriosa y oscura habitación, bajo la mesa se esconde una trampilla donde vive...lo desconocido (yo creo que en la serie nunca se ve al personaje completo, solo se oye la voz ronca y se ven sus ojos). We used as an inspiration some photos from Mon Oncle film . The 50´s clean interiors on them are great, but Jonathan chose the two main characters of the film: Mr Hulot and Gérard.
In this case both of us worked with batik on the background. Mixed media: ink and white pen batik dyed fabric.
Usamos como referencia algunas fotos de la pelicula Mi Tío, de Jacques Tatti. Los limpios interiores son geniales, pero Jonathan eligió los dos personajes principapel: Monsieur Hulot y Gérard.

Another one inspired by Moebius comic books. One of the character, after Jonathan interpretation, looks like tatooed mariner.

I don´t remember the title of this one, and couldn´t find it on my notes. It is based on Adventure Time, another famous animated television series.
